This report provides a summary of findings of Australian school students surveyed in 2023 regarding their mental, emotional, social and physical health. Data was collected using the Resilience Survey (Resilient Youth Australia Pty Ltd) - a measure of child and youth behaviour, wellbeing and resilience. The survey was administered in more than one thousand schools across every state and territory once in the year using unique codes to allow school-based administration to students. The Resilience Survey is a student voice instrument, meaning that data is collected directly from students in a manner that ensures their privacy and confidentiality. The survey is anonymous and non-identified, and responses are only reported in the aggregate. In this way, the Resilience Survey aims to elicit honest answers from students, empowering them to share responsibility for developing and enhancing their own resilience, mental health, and broader wellbeing.
