For post-thaw recovery, PBMCs had 18.18% lower recovery (95% CI: -26.64, -9.73; p < 0.001) compared to CBMCs. Each additional day blood was stored prior to cell isolation reduced recovery by 5.75% (95% CI: -8.28, -3.21; p < 0.001). Furthermore, each increase of 1.0 × 10⁶ cells in total viable cell number per aliquot at storage was associated with a 0.64% decrease in recovery (95% CI: -1.04, -0.24; p = 0.001). Every additional 100 days cells were stored prior to thawing was associated with 0.54% reduced recovery (95% CI -0.95, -0.13; p = 0.010). LN2 shipment compared to dry ice increased recovery by 24.76% (95% CI: 18.27, 31.25; p < 0.001).
