This article gives the reader a thorough understanding of contract law, including its history and the numerous sources from which it developed. Contract law is utilised at work and in daily life. The contract law is applied to everything from modest company transactions to multimillion dollar business operations. The role of religions in developing the law was covered at the outset of the article and was then followed by discussions of the contract laws in Manusmriti, Kautilya's Arthashastra, and Islamic Laws. One may describe the Indian Contract Law as a synthesis of numerous ancient legal texts. The background of Indian Contract Law will be briefly explained to the reader after reading this text.
