Column headers: SOIL: soil location type. N = long leaf box woodland; P = Pinus radiata plantation; UB = unburnt in 2015 Sampson Flat fire; LB = low severity fire during 2015 Sampson Flat fire; HB = high severity fire during 2015 Sampson Flat fire TREAT: nutrient treatment schedule. Blank = water only; C = 10 g glucose per kg soil; N = 0.5 g ammonium chloride per kg soil; P = 0.05 g monopotassium phosphate per kg soil. Letters are additive. BURN: Burn status. B = burnt; U = unburnt. RSP: Cumulative respiration on day 50 in mgCO2-C per gOC N (as header): available nitrogen (ammonium and nitrate) on day 50 in mgN per kgSoil. MBP: microbial biomass phosphorus (fumigated - non-fumigated) on day 50 in mgP per kgSoil. Notes on the Rscripts: These scripts were developed over a wide range of experience levels. I do not recommend using them for similar work, as more efficient scripts have since been written. The figures were further edited in a vector based image editor in order to increase clarity. Notes on the study locations: These locations were in Old Kersbrook Forest, South Australia. The soils are leptic rudosols. Soils were collected in May, 2015 after the Sampson Flat fire in January, 2015. Notes on the methods: Soils were incubated for 50 days with respiration measured throughout. MBP fumigation was achieved with hexanol; P was measured using resin strips and the standard Murphy/Riley colorimetric methods.
