Remote sensing techniques can facilitate the detection of erosion processes and consequences (e.g. sheet and rills, gullies, land slides, dust storms), and enable the identification of erosion controlling factors (e.g. ground cover, soil water content, etc.). Remotely sensed data can also be integrated in predicting models to produce erosion maps and decision support systems.
